regenerationministries@gmail.com

Ray Nelson was born in Bermuda and grew up in upstate New York. He earned his Master of Divinity degree from Andrews University in 1968 and his Master of Science in Public Health from Loma Linda University in 1973. In the mid 1990’s Ray found help with some addictions in his personal life through the Bridge to Recovery in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He then continued working on his own recovery through various 12-Step recovery groups and carrying the message of Christ-centered recovery through Regeneration Ministries. He has a new appreciation of Jesus Christ –THE HIGHEST POWER. For the past eight years his work with Hal Gates, Regeneration Ministries Founder and Director, and Dr. DeWitt Williams, North American Division Health Ministries Director, Reg Burgess and others have resulted in three Regeneration Ministry Awareness Tours, and a 2007 Conference on Addictions Ministry at Andrews University.

Elder Nelson has served as a pastor in rural as well as densely populated cities like New York. In addition, to his work with recovery ministries, he pastors the Glen Burnie and Brooklyn Churches in the metro area of Baltimore, Maryland. He also serves as the Health Ministries Director for the Chesapaeake Conference and Health Ministries Coordinator for the Columbia Union.

Ray is married to Valerie (Schneider) from Berrien Springs, Michigan, a music teacher and secretary. The Nelsons have three grown children; Vaughan, Renita, and Vanessa.
